LitInspector Release Notes
December 2012: LitInspector Release 1.7
- Data update: now based on the latest literature data
- New classifier: Small Molecules based on the ChEBI database and Genomatix Literature Mining
- New organism: Zea mays
- Definition of two super organisms: Mammalia spec. (combined data mining of human, mouse and rat gene synonyms) and Spermatophyta spec. (based on 17 plant taxa)
- New analysis tool: retrieve associations of genes, TFs, diseases, tissues, and small molecules with user defined search terms
September 2011: LitInspector Release 1.6
- Data update: now based on the latest literature data from July 2011
- Statistically overrepresented Gene - Signaling pathway associations are now highlighted
February 2010: LitInspector Release 1.5
- The number of entries in the pathways database has more than doubled, containing 393 pathway entries now.
- The homonym disambiguation was further improved.
July 2009: LitInspector Release 1.4
- New organisms:
- Arabidopsis thaliana
- Drosophila melanogaster
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae
- Schizosaccharomyces pombe
December 2008: LitInspector Release 1.3
- New input option: the user can define which keywords
(transcription factor, gene, disease, tissue, pathway, function word)
will be highlighted in the output. Per default, transcriprion factors and
genes are highlighted.
This feature is only available in the GenomatixPortal version of
LitInspector.
- The references for the signal transduction pathway
associations of a gene are displayed in the LitInspector color coded format.
- The option "Get selected abstracts" provides the
selected abtracts in LitInspector color coded format in addition to direct
PubMed links.
July 2008: LitInspector Release 1.2
- Improved disambiguation for more than 1,000 gene symbols that
are simultaneously used in a "non-gene" context in the
literature.
- Evaluation of LitInspector example results compared to other
text mining software (IHOP, EBIMed, PubGene) available
("LitInspector Quality").
February 2008: LitInspector Release 1.1
- Enhanced performance of free text search.
- Individual abstracts can be selected in the LitInspector
results in order to generate a PubMed link to all relevant publications.
November 2007: LitInspector Release 1.0
LitInspector is a new literature search tool
for genes, gene functions, gene - gene relations, and signal transduction
pathways. LitInspector is available in the GenomatixPortal main menu free of
charge for every registered user.
LitInspectorfeatures are:
- Input: gene symbols, gene IDs and/or free text
- Output:
- PubMed abstracts where genes and relevant keywords are highlighted
- Gene - gene co-citations (only for gene input)
- Signal transduction pathway associations (only for gene input)
